girls

This is what summer should look like. I have been watching this video for MONTHS because I just can't get enough. It is so beautiful.

tv lives

Little late in the evening.... but I have been obsessed with watching this documentary, and I suggest viewing it yourself! It has my fave rave Miss Pamela Des Barres in it looking STUNNING (as usual).  I aspire to be as cool as these mini mama's were. Anyway, watch them in sequence and you'll know what I'm talking about:

If anyone knows me, they are aware of my undying love of the swingin' 60s. It is hitting its peak at the moment but I doubt it will ever bottom out. Exciting things to follow I HOPE! (I'm sending it out into the universe so it should materialize.)

Hope you enjoyed!

hang onto your ego

My thrifting soul mate has abandoned me for island time, and I don't blame her... really. I'm just running out of things to do to keep myself busy. I'm on the verge of taking up collage (my lovely aunt passed on some truly old chatelaine magazines and pattern books which could keep me busy for HOURS if I really got into the thick of them).

The point of it all is that she took some truly bodacious photos before she left and now I'm wishing she would become my personal photographer already. ANYWAY.... you should see what she's up to now that I'm not taking up all of her time :

(for her traveling adventures)

(her cat diaries)

Can I please have my friend back?

you're so vain

I definitely do not have a green thumb, I like to think I'm one with nature and could garden well if I ever invested any real time into it. You can imagine my surprise when I discovered several poppies in my back yard growing ALL BY THEMSELVES. How did this even happen?

wearing: thrifted orange silk top, rodarte for target jean shorts, ancient h&m purse, crappy sandals, ray bans, and MY FAVE GOODWILL PURCHASE - the gem bojangle necklace. Can't stop wearing it.

Off to the country for a serious FAM JAM. I might even wear sweatpants and belt out a heart wrenching rendition of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain" and then piss my pants. We'll see how that goes.

out in the streets

SOS Fest wrap up! It's been a couple of days (okay, 4!) since it finished and I have slowly gone through the photos I took in a haze. The not so glamorous aftermath walking home sans shoes in my tights. I usually opt for the flats so this was a treacherous evening tottering on high heels.

SLATES

There was so much going on that it was nearly impossible to rush around and see everyone you wanted. Hence photos of only 2 bands! Timing was everything. I did make it to quite a few shows, but not with a good vantage point for photos. Hopefully they will continue this next year and it will get bigger and better.

Sunday's free open air stages were pretty sweet. I have never seen so many people lose their minds for Shout Out. Nice to see hometown love.

awful

Remember when you received your first camera and you thought you needed to document everything? All the most mundane things suddenly seemed so interesting, and your framing was always PERFECT. Then the anticipation of waiting to get your filmed developed to see how big of a genius you really were.

hah! I've been digging through some old treasures under my bed and unearthed these gems taken on a trip to Drumheller and the mountains. Lately I have really been nostalgic for the 90s. Chunky platforms, mini velvet Junior Girl dresses from Le Chateau, boy bands, grunge, ym magazine, fetish cosmetics! Ahhhh. Those were the days.
